Some of you may remember that I played “Woof” in the 30th anniversary production of the musical HAIR back in 1998. It was quite a successful run and we had plans for it to continue on to bigger and better venues. Alas, not to be but it was an amazing show and to this day…one of my favorite that I’ve ever performed in. Besides the regular show, we also did a weekly concert version of it at the now closed Wetlands club downtown. (That’s me up there in the concert version). Even recording it onto CD for prosperity.

I’ve lost touch with most of the cast but see a few on occasion. And many of the cast (or tribe) are connected on that there Facebook. At first, the “tribe” moniker was part of the hippie vibe we were going for (as well as being described as such in the script). But through the process of rehearsals and the run of the show, we truly became as such. We laughed, loved, fought, got naked, sang, danced, smoked up, ‘shroomed, cried and genuinely became a family. Sure, not everyone got along but we found a way to make it work.

Recently, Jill (who played “Chrissy”) posted the above photo on Facebook and we all started commenting on it. Matt (“Berger”) has even suggested we get the band back together to do the concert version of the show for charity. What say you, internets? Would you come see us get our hippie groove back on? Sound off!
